The Jaden Cornelious Foundation

The Jaden Cornelious Foundation

The Jaden Cornelious Foundation was formed in 2009 for the direct distribution of funds raised by, for and on behalf of the causes supported by Jaden Cornelious.

“To help those who can’t fight for themselves”

The Jaden Cornelious Foundation came into existence in 2009.  It came from an idea Jaden had which started with fund raising for 3 breast cancer charities/campaigns which in turn was inspired by reading the autobiography of breast cancer survivor Olivia Newton-John.  Jaden, who has always been a fan of Olivia, challenged himself to put a show together of 25+ Olivia Newton-John songs and train a group of backing singers who had never sung before, now called JCGC (the Jaden Cornelious Gorgeous Choir) and by taking The Totally Olivia Tour on the road for 6 months around the South West of England aimed to raise £10k.  The tour which is in its final couple of months is nearing that total.

Jaden has done lots of charity work in the past but was re-inspired by Olivia to do something special to help anyone or anything that can’t fight for themselves.  Some of the people who are helping Jaden with his cancer charity challenge have since become good friends.  They have the same spirit and wish to help other beings and have now offered their services to the Foundation.  Such is the enthusiasm of the friends that more new ideas have been born.

The early stages for another touring show for the summer of 2010 is currently being put together.  It will be a show featuring songs recorded by famous Divas and although it will be a shorter tour the venues will be bigger so hopefully more money will be raised.

A project which is currently underway is the collection of toys which will be sent to children in Romanian orphanages.  This project is being assisted by American singer Jennifer Crestol who lives and works in Bucharest. Jennifer is a patron of the JCF and works in Bucharest with another charity called Children in Distress.  Jennifer was so touched by the plight of the children – many only living a few years - and since working with Children in Distress told her friend Jaden about the work being done there hence the toy collection project was born!

A charity celebrity autograph auction is currently being put together.  People such as Olivia Newton-John, Carrie Fisher and the cast of Friends have sent items for the auction.  A date and venue is yet to be arranged, though it may be more cost effective to be an Internet auction.

A JCF Ghost Hunt has been proposed.  The South West of England has many historical towns with various houses and other buildings rumoured to be haunted. A date and place is still to be confirmed for this event.

The media is buzzing with all things Twilight so a Twilight Ball is planned for 30th October at a venue to be arranged.

A sponsored Amazon Hike is a high priority for March 2011.  Discussions are already in hand to arrange for the hike to take place in Ecuador/Peru.  It is hoped this will be a high profile event with even maybe a celebrity or two taking part! So many parts of the Amazon Rain Forest are being destroyed and because it is the “lungs of the earth” it is vital to save the rain forest especially for the indigenous people who live there.  The forest is rapidly decreasing due to large companies who buy up the land and take down the trees so as to cultivate acres of grassland for cattle to graze.  The cattle in turn are slaughtered and the beef is shipped out and being bought by large fast food chains.  The JCF supports efforts to save the forest for the people whose home it is and to help buy back the land to ensure they will always have a home and a place to work and live.

Going back to the singing theme, JCGC will be putting a Christmas show together in December 2010 at two venues – this again is still to be arranged.

Jaden has made North Devon his home and has become quite well known in the area.  There are many unsung heroes whose efforts go largely unnoticed so it is Jaden’s wish to have the JCF arrange a celebration of local heroes so this is to be arranged in early 2011 at a theatre or hotel and will probably be called “Our 2010 Heroes”. Due to the certain responsibilities from the foundation Jaden will be relocating back to London in April of 2010.
